flattop Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 Happy Thanksgiving Folks! I am just wondering what my 2013 GMC sierra SLE 4X4 should be worth on a trade in. I am looking at a 2016 leftover that stickers for about $47,000.00 My 2013 was bought new by me and has 103,000 all highway miles. Not a problem with it, Mobil 1 since new. New ATS Wranglers and rotor's & pads. What have any of you been getting for a trade in? Thanks, Flattop
dirtfan21 Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 Nada Guide and KBB are your friends. They will at least get you in the ballpark on what to expect from the dealer.
Colossus Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 I agree. Most dealers like to stick to those things.
flattop Posted November 23, 2016 Author Posted November 23, 2016 Thanks, NADA says $17,000 average trade in. Seems OK, I will see what quotes I get this weekend.
Colossus Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 UGGH. $13,000 just rubs me the wrong way, it's worth more than that but will be hard pressed to get that from a dealer. Sadly it's the millage that did it in.
flattop Posted November 24, 2016 Author Posted November 24, 2016 I would entertain something in the $15,000 range, but $13,000? I would try to sell it privately if they are down that low.
Dnt Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 I am seeing all automakers discounting MSRP by a large amount. They apparently know something that we do not know (Recession in our near future?) if money was tight I would probably give that old 2013 a good detailing and hang onto it. Now if money is no option just go splurge and get a new truck man. Currently around 20% off MSRP!! Looks like you are in the 15000 range on KBB site private party sale dependent upon options.
dirtfan21 Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 I think the deep discounts stem from sales being low. I think more people hold onto their money this time of year for the holidays. Plus, they are trying to lose all of the 2016 models. I also think the election has many folks waiting to see what the economy does during the presidential change.
