New Truck Fever.

The KBB / Edmunds etc will get you a good range for tradein or perhaps a private sale to an individual. On a 2016 model right now if you are not getting at least 20% off MSRP it is NOT a deal. Fly on up to Laura GMC and pickup your new truck and drive it back home. they had killer deals a few weeks back on double cab SLT's with the 6.2 that were approaching 25% off MSRP! You can put your old beater on craigs list and get it sold later on. Please post a pic of the new truck when you get back tomorrow afternoon.

We took a one way car rental had an appointment with a 2 hour window and we were there with 1.5 hrs to spare, my truck was suppost to be out front cleaned and shined waiting for me to write a check, sign the papers and roll.

3 hrs later we left and let's just say it was still dirty inside and out after they finally "cleaned it". Laura is a big dealership with over 20 million worth of inventory, but they were only worried about shuttling us in and out like cattle to move product.

OP, do what you want... We all make decisions based on emotion and desire, sometimes it's the right thing, sometimes it's not.

BUT, if you needed new rotors after 48k miles, you really need to get a on better maintenance program and save yourself some $ in the long-run.

Coming from a guy who traded his 2011 6.2 for a '14, keep the 2012. My 2011 was an incredibly solid truck. I despised my '14.

You are getting some good opinions. I wanted to add that my previous truck (09 SLE) is essentially the same truck as my new (15 SLE) . I was very happy with my 09 and simply wanted it refreshed. It had significantly more mileage and wear on it than your '12. The biggest difference I have enjoyed is the 8" infotainment center. Every other improvement for me is insignificant. I have since discovered similar aftermarket entertainment equipment that fits into the dash seamlessly of your current model of truck. If I was in your current position I would do some upgrades and wait for the next generation of GM 1500's!
