:sigh: Heres the deal we bought a brand new 2003 quad cab duramax this past winter its been a great truck so far. So my mom goes on a field trip with my brother with the truck and when she gets home there is tar everywhere on the running boards on the chrome package on the mud flaps even on the fender flares. Does anyone know how to get this off???? I was genna try heating it but that would just smear it. Thanks in advance guys!

dont use WD-40. It will most likely scratch the truck.

I had this very thing happen to my truck last summer. Head to toe in tar. Talked to a body guy and he told me to buy some stuff called PREP-SOL made by dupont. Worked like a charm. Make sure you have enough towels and to try and keep them clean. It will remove any wax along with the tar but wont hurt the clear. This stuff is also good if you get paint (from them painting lines on the road) on your truck

You can also try washing it with dish soap, it'll take off any wax so you'll need to re-wax, but it should remove the tar. I've gotten tar all over my old truck before and it took it off very easily.
