so alittle background info to start, I bought for $3,000 a ugly yellow Silverado 2500HD 4wd regular cab long bed with 6.0 with 4.10 gears no posi, oh with 125,000 miles. The truck was once a "public works" truck, then the second owner used it as a plow truck for a few years. The truck had one issue, besides the color, the floor pan rusted out from the inside out and some one just placed a sheet of metal under the vinyl floor. so a very very long story short, between a other parts truck I have and a new floor pan, I made the floor as best as I can do. I'm 22 and working in the dirt, nothing but dirt or grass on my property, and my job only allows us to work on our own vehicles only Fridays for about 2 hrs max.

 

so when buying this truck my intentions were to make it manual, I even installed a clutch pedal when I had the whole interior apart, plus I did the heater core and a/c evaporator. and my parts truck which is a 2002 1500 4.3 5spd 4wd, I'm using the pedal and all interior parts from not the tranny but I'm keeping it. I really want to do a zf6 6 speed tranny, ive drove a few in fords and feel in love. the problem is the tranny is about 3,100 give or take 1,000, then you need a different transfercase, which is about 1000 more, I'm far from rich this is all a budget build. So at work we have a few shop trucks on one is a 2001 2500hd 4wd regular cab long bed just like mine in light gold with a 8.1/Allison and this truck has the correct transfer case with manual shift handle, it even has a plow. I don't know how but so how I bought it from my dealership for $1500, now this truck isn't perfect, the tranny keeps going into safe mode and I'm getting it with a junk title but it only has 25,555 miles. I think I just robbed them

I plan to make the truck 8.1/zf6 4wd and from what I learnt and my father having a 8.1 in a 04 they only come with 3.73 in Silverado's and with my swap I have 4.10 In truck already

ok so i have pictures of the driver floor pan, before and during some work of the floor pan is rusted out where the floor pan and firewall meet. on the passenger side i had the same rust issue but not as bad, and my parts truck rusted out in the same spot.​ If anyone cares I would check your truck under the pedals.

these are the last pictures I have of the floor pan sorry I'm not the best at working and taking pictures are I go along. I still need to repair the rocker but after having a solid floor in the truck again, I painted 2 coats of por-15 over the floor and firewall. I also sprayed this anti rust wax spray I have from work over all of that and in tons on the body holes and openings in and out

and finally, now i dont have pictures of this but i will add, i re did the interior with all of the nicest trim piceces between my two trucks, installed a new rubber floor, installed folding jump seat, and folding cupholder.(which will have to go when it's stick)

 

to make the truck not look as much as a work truck, i put h2 rims on with 315/70r17

Nice work, i do my own steel stuff too.

 

for cab, outer floor is all I have spotted thus far. They must have worked that 2500 hard.

 

8.1 and a manual. I could only imagine the sound that will make rowing the gears..

awesome.

 

just a manual on any v8 it is another world of truck.

 

I would cont on some aftermarket stuff, like tranny mounts, cab mounts.

maybe some class 12 cab mount bolts.

 

simple list once you lay down the real work load...that one will break things.

so finally I got the truck from my dealership took about a month, but im getting it with a clean title too. so I feel so dumb but one of the reasons I was buying the truck was for transfer case I thought it was floorshift. the truck is roll up windows and no a/c but has push button 4wd, I find that really weird. I prefer floor shift but oh well lol.

 

so I got some pictures of my dads 2015 3500 6.0 loaded with the truck and trailer, it also had about 500 pounds of sand in the bed for plowing.

 

for Christmas this year my wonderful girlfriend bought me a new center console lid kit and a billet grille
