Onboard air compressor question.

would it be worth getting? I know i can toss a air compressor in the bed but I figured i can go custom setup i do plan on getting a alpine radio restyle setup with the switch module at some point is it possible to set it up where that radio will control my compressor?

May get air horns (for use when its needed)

Air bags on rear (probably) truck sees some off road use (but no jumps) so I guess regular bags would work.

Would be nice to have air incase i am not near a compressor or family member needs it

I'm sure you can wire anything to control. I have the viair 450c running 110-145 psi on two 2.5 gallon tanks. I run train horns with 1/2 dot brake push for air line. Super clean, leak free and tough way to plumb it. If the truck is on, the relay to power the compressor is energized. I also have electric valves plumbed to drain water from tanks, and it's fun to play with like a kid.

Best advice with horns is use big orifice valves from Airbagit.com. The flow develops the deep below and ear drum shattering train sound. Even the cheap horns sound great with those valves. Horns usually ship with super cheap small orifice valves.

My truck is lifted so the compressor and all is mounted under bed where the spare used to be. This is the 3rd truck that same 450c has been in. It's important to over buy and get 100% duty cycle. If you end up in a jam needing to run an impact or break an air line, you won't smoke your compressor. These are just my opinions and experiences from build 6-7 onboard air systems.

Is there any other way, pretty sure that is a requirement when installing those. I always just assumed it asked when buying if you were lifted, if you checked no it they would say "item does not fit your vehicle"
