I'm looking for any ideas to use for storage in-between frame and bed panel. Lots of space. Its an ideal location to cut into the panel to place a locker door for those who posses that kind of talent.

Any similar modifications done in this location helpful.

Ford used to have an under bed storage area, usually on the Camper Specials, if I remember correctly. You can see the door in the pic below.

The above model of Ford was my 1st and 2nd pickup! The other use for this space could be an auxiliary gas tank.

In between the frame and body? GM got sued for doing this on the 73-87 trucks. No one would even think about offering a tank for there. Storage? Absolutely.

You're absolutely correct! I actually was thinking of the space between the frame rails but this of course would not address the space the OP was trying to use. The tool-box idea has potential but not a lot gained for the effort/cost involved, IMO. I believe Ford even once had a removable panel with a spare tire behind it in this location!
