Just traded my 08 Ram 1500 for a '14 GMC 1500 crew cab. The Dodge was starting to get a little long in the tooth and I was in need of more cab space for the kiddos...

Didn't hate the Ram but couldn't get over the newer GM interiors and claimed fuel mileage. A friend bought a Chevy 1500 last year and I was surprised to hear what he had to say about mileage while towing. We haul essentially the same load (jeep buggies) and he was getting 12-13 while I was getting 10 in the Ram. He said his unloaded mpg was 19ish compared to my 15ish. Long story short, that's when I decided to try Chevy/GMC 1500 when it came time to trade in.

I've had it about a month now and couldn't be happier. Love the interior layout, the heated leather, nav and head unit. Gas mileage is great, 19 around town and 20+ on the highway. The 5.3 makes plenty of power and tows my jeep without any trouble, brakes seem a lot better than the Ram and the steering is much better.

Truck came with a Retrax tonneau cover and I've started to add some upgrades and mods. LED headlight and fog light bulbs, led lighting on running boards and led reverse lights under bumper so far. Next is a leveling kit and 275/75r18 BFG KO2s, then maybe that Rough Country single row LED bar behind the grill.

I'm also planning on adding the tow mirrors similar to the 2500s...

This forum is right up my alley, lots of info to pour through!
