Phil0922 Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 NOTE: I have read the stickied thread -- http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/153363-2014-leveling-kits/ Doesn't really answer my concerns. My current specs: 2014 Silverado LTZ 4x4 - Front Fender to Ground ~37" and Rear ~39". Typical. I have a local supplier that sells RC level kits. I'm looking into the 2.5 kit vs the 2". I'll dot he install but want to see if the 2.5 is worth it. It's only $100 more. 2" With the 2" Front lower strut extension, it levels everything to about ~39" 2.5" With the 2" Front lower strut extension and the rear 2" block, everything levels to F ~39" and Rear ~40" Add the Top strut spacer, which looks about 1/2", and the front is around ~39.5" and rear ~40". Sound Correct? Looking at the 2.5 option, just curious why it's still raked and if someone has experience with this specific one. Not towing anything, just want a cleaner look with a tad more clearance (.5"-1"). If I buy it, I can always just use the front kit, but would rather not waste the money up front.
scott19677 Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 I have the 2.5 WITHOUT the rear block and it is leveled with NO rake at all. It actually took a while to get used to it because it 'kinda felt/looked nose high although it sits perfectly level. I have no idea what the measurements are. I have not bothered to check.
Phil0922 Posted January 25, 2017 Author Posted January 25, 2017 So, you have the front bottom and top entension? How does that level it out if the 2" is supposed to do so? scott19677 Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 So, you have the front bottom and top entension? How does that level it out if the 2" is supposed to do so? yes I have the top and bottom for a supposedly 2.5 total lift. The 2 inch bottom only "leveling" block will still leave some rake. It's 'kinda misleading.
Jdkno Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 Something worth addressing here, these trucks are a little misleading when it comes to leveling which is why there are so many conflicts on what kit makes the truck level. It all depends on what part of the truck you want to appear level really. If you want the top of the wheelwells level you will need a bigger kit than if you want the top of the bed and top of the hood level. Look at your truck and measure the metal from the top of the bed to the wheel well opening, do the same in front and you will see there is more metal above the front wheel well, even more metal if you measure all the way to the top of where the hood humps up, so if you level the wheel well opening you will probably look a nose high.... If you focus on anything other than wheelwells. I can't figure out how to post a pic from my phone but i used the 1.5 spacer as I wanted to keep a little rake. I have a picture dead on from the side with the truck sitting on level ground. If you look at the wheel well you see some rake, if you look at the edge of the hood it looks just about level with the bed, if you look at the hump on the hood that seems to sit higher than the bed rail. It's all about perspective.
