Why not just do a chalk or tape outline? A lot lighter than a bunch of 2X4's.

Hard to tell when you bump into and knock over a chalk line.

 

Seriously - the chalk / tape idea is a decent one, but you have to be mindful of the fact that it has no "height", so you don't have quite the same way to understand if the tires will bump into it or not.
