I have a credit lock due to ID theft. You can call ahead and have it turned off for a set amount of time. Had to do this recently with a new credit card due to possible card scam. Sick of all this cyber/I'd theft crime makes everything a pain in the rear.

Nice SUV. What color is that?

I completely forgot I had activated the lock, my fault...but I thought it was only for 30 days, and that was around Thanksgiving.

Nightfall Gray...

I agree w both sides here, i like being given space but at the same time I shouldn't be walking around looking at the car/truck for an hour before someone even approaches me. Especially if i'm someone who has a pretty good idea of what I want

I did my last two pickups online. I selected what I wanted and then talked with dealer. My 2013 1500, a local dealer brought it in from across the state for me to check out and drive before buying. My 2015 2500, a dealer about 60 miles from me had exactly what I wanted. Got about $9K off the sticker for that one and they thru in a Line-X bedliner job as part of the deal. I liked this approach better than scrounging a lot and being bugged by a sales person. No pressure and can walk away anytime if the deal is no good. Also did the same thing with a new 2006 Jeep Liberty diesel. That one was brought in from out of state for me to check out at a local dealer.

I'm good with that approach if that's what you want. I actually wanted to sit in one, test drive one, before I bought.

I'm gun shy, the last Dodge I bought was purchased sight unseen, brought in from another dealer. It had a faulty clutch pressure plate that took an act of God to get fixed under warranty, it had multiple dents in the body panels that Dodge wouldn't touch, had issues with the mirrors (they never tightened them), had the notorius 3rd gen vibrations, among other issues....a NEW truck with only 110 miles mind you.

Again, call me old school...I worked at a dealer in the late 80s/early 90s (the world's oldest Buick dealership at that time, now defunct)...if someone walked onto our lot at 9pm, and was serious about buying a car; the dealership made the sale, regardless of whether it was closing time, or if the car was "prepared for delivery". That was good business...and most of that dealership's ongoing sales were from return customers.

Go to the Car Dealers in Phoenix. They are like Vultures on a carcuss! Just about out there to open the door on your car!

I actually don't like it when they rush out to hustle you. I am the type of guy that knows what I want and if I don't see it I don't waste my time or theirs. If I do I would just as soon go in the showroom and have reception call an available salesman!
