Illuminated Bow Tie

Just installed the bow tie on my 16 LTZ and must say for the price I am VERY disappointed in the brightness of it. In the Videos I watched it seemed much brighter. Wondering if there is an easy fix to swap the LED's? I had it installed at the dealer as anything I order from the GM accessories site my dealer installs for nothing so I did not see the back and how accessible the LED's are.

I'll post a pic if need be but have a broken ankle to be honest and not feeling like limping out there! LOL... Hope ya understand. Just do a You-Tube search "Illuminated Bowtie and you can see the accessory.

As you can see from the pictures I posted, mine is bright enough at night, but it is about worthless in daylight.

Is this how yours is???

Oh and there is no easy way or most likely no way at all to replace the LEDs or whatever it uses, there are just 2 wires coming out the back of the bowtie and it's a sealed unit.

Seems useless during the day. Does it come on with the headlights, or does it stay on all the time? Looks sweet at night though!

Honestly... I don't think mine are that bright... maybe half... It seems the pictures look brighter than they are to the ACTUAL EYE. Took pics of mine but had the resolution set to high says pic to big to upload.

Bummer that changing the LED's is not an option...

It comes on with at least the parking lights on.

The first photo as you can see it's on with just the parking lights and DRL's of course.

The second photo is parking lights on with fog lights on.

In both photos the actual headlights are off, only the DRL's are on.

I will say those photos I posted are very honest. That is exactly what it looks like to the naked eye at night. But again it is worthless at daylight.

Yes, for that special touch I do love them on my truck... Another great look (To Me) are the chrome bed side rails....

Anyone know where to find the installation instructions? I received mine today (off of ebay), and the accessory sheet says:

"Instructions for install of this part are available through GM Service Information (S.I) within the "Accessories Manual" section specific to the vehicle for which you purchased the accessory. For customer installation please request service instructions sheet from your local deal."
