Transmission TSB - day 2

Ok, my local Chevy dealer did his 2nd manufacturer-recommended service for my hard up/down shift in gears 1-2-3.

The first was a standard reflash a couple months ago. He said yesterday's was the new TSB and he described watching the mechanic hold the brake, gun the throttle and follow instructions as directed.

Responses observed:

The slow roll to a stop, then accelerate before stopping extreme clumk is gone so far.

Minor 3-2-1 clunks coming to routine stops. Perceptible, but minor.

The truck feels heavier off the line. No hard acceleration, but routine starts almost seem a touch sluggish.

I've tried to watch RPM shift points, but too early to tell much. I am keenly aware of my (manually calculated) MPGs. I'll watch that too.

My truck has been at my dealer for this last week for this exact issue. I called them today and they said they're still working on it but haven't solved it yet. Please update your results if you can!!

Ok, will do. The bullet points in first post are all for the moment. I might assume it's still in the "learn mode" so actual results may be yet determined. Yes, 8 speed.

If this was a shift point re-program, I have to think my MPG will be negatively affected. I manually calculate every fill up (use trip B for this) so I'll get a feel soon.

Clearly, I want this to work...
