Door ajar chime

3 different times I have started my truck started to drive off and got chime going off like seat belt or door ajar goes on until I stop get out of truck open door and get back in.Today it happened and while driving I shifted to neutral then back to drive and it stopped, just wondering if anyone has had this issue. It shows no message like door ajar or seatbelt just chimes.

If you have something in the passenger seat it may think that someone is in that seat without a belt on FYI

I have not had the problem since my last post I have no idea what could have been the cause. I did not take it into the dealer figured I would get cant not duplicate the problem, glad it stopped.

Pretty sure you had something on your passenger seat. It detects the weight and assumes someone is sitting there, chiming for the seat belt. I had this happen a couple of times.

nothing in the passenger seat and the display did not show the seatbelt not hooked

I checked the little seat belt indicator for pass seat & it was normal (not flashing red ) & the dic was normal as well . I also have not been able to replicate . Weird though! Waiting for the day the screens go black & smoke rolls from the dash ......

I have had weird things like this happening in the last year or so. They happen randomly with no rhyme or reason. I just deal with it since I know the dealership probably don't know what to do to fix it anyway.

Google "G218 ground" or better yet search for it on these forums. There is a known problem with the BCM ground that is located way up in the front driver's corner of the dash (in front of the speaker). Sometimes the ground does not make good contact and since it's for the BCM the computer gets confused and starts throwing codes and chimes. It's not hard too check.
