What should I wrap my 20 inch wheels with?

Hey all,

So I have a set of 20's just sitting in the garage that my father passed on to me. I am ready to buy some new tires but having a hard time deciding what to go with.

I've done a bit of research and I'm thinking of going with either 33x12.5 OR 305/55s.

Wants: Agressive looking tire like a MT but noise level to be minimal at highway speeds.

I looked into the Radar Renegade R7 MT (friend is throwing me out good deals since he works at a tire shop) but I came across another thread and the noise is well at first but after about 4k miles they sound like any other MT.

I am more inclined at just settling for a good AT tire if necessary.

Let me know what tires you have experienced and I'll do some more research.

Thanks!

The Fallen Wildpeak AT/3 is really quiet and aggressive looking with a a cool sidewall. Also has the "snowflake" winter rating. Runs a tad narrow which helps prevent rubbing.

305/55 and 33/12.50 are the same size.

I think I'll be going with the Nitto Terra Grappler G2s. 305/55 most likely.

Look awesome. I'll have to check to see if my shop carries those. If not the Grappler G2s will have to do.

Thanks for the recommendations guys.

If you haven't made your purchase yet, then look into hybrid tires like the Cooper ST Maxx, Mastercraft CXT, Goodyear Duratrac, Nitto Ridge Grappler, Toyo RT, and Falken Wildpeak AT3W. Those will give you the aggressive look without the terrible road noise of a true MT. The Toyo AT2 Extreme should also be considered, because it's a very aggressive looking AT.

Aren't the expo grapplers the winter truck tire nitto makes?

the exo are m&s rated as are many other similiar tires. i run 235 cooper snows for the winter on 17 inch wheels. the nittos i just got are 275's. learned a long time ago the hard way that a narrower tire is better for the packed snow and ice conditions. the michelins i just replaced were the best road tire ive had but not good in any snow or if i left the pavement even if it was to back the boat trailer into yard they just spun without engaging the 4x4 .

I did that following weekend I think. Did end up going with the Nitto Terra Grappler G2s. So far I am loving them. 305/55/20. Rubs a bit due to my mudflap but I don't mind since it only happens when I crank it to max.
