Rust Proofing Spray

If you're going to sand the rusty spots before spraying with new wax, what would be the ideal tool to sand with? A wire brush? Or would sandpaper be better?

The Daubert Nox Rust x-121b, the stuff our frame is coated with, is about $30 shipped for one can. Anyone know if the dealerships sell the stuff?

Looks like you can order it directly from their website for 14.99. Have to see what shipping cost are.

Shipping was about $12 and then with tax I'm right around $30. I'm thinking of just sanding, priming, and then using a black paint or like you said plasti dip might work as well.

Let me know in a PM your shipping address and I can get you a quote delivered to your door for AMSOIL's HD Protector if you are interested. Just one can correct?

If the factory wax peels right off, why waste money on a can/case of it so it can just come off again??

I figure the frame is protected so long as the wax is intact. I've only got a few spots where it isn't, where the frame has been hit/touched by something. If I keep touching up those spots, hopefully I'll stay protected.

For those with the Preferred Customer thing at Amsoil, a can of HD Metal Protector is going for $8.15 a can. I get the stuff by the case, so it comes to $7.75 a can. Overall, a pretty good value for a very good product.

Not sure if this is relatable.....but up in Canada there is a TON of salt....I go to KROWN rustproofing...they use some sort of a spray formula that coats everything under the truck. It goes into the dooes and panels as well through small holes. It relaly keeps the vehicles going longer up here. I also spray a can or two under the truck through the winter. It is like an oil spray...but not oil. Works great for our conditions.
