Trip Odometer not resetting!!!

Hi, I have been having a lot of problems getting my trip odometer to reset on my truck. I hold the button in for ever and it doesn't do anything. It use to work fine but I finally gave up using it because my truck is out of warranty and I don't want to spend a ton of money to fix it. Has anyone else has this problem? Is their a fix?

Make sure when you push the button once to switch over from the total vehicle mileage to the trip mileage that you push it, and let off of it real good, then push and hold it to reset the trip meter. Mine will do it too if I don't put a big enough gap between the two pushes.
