XD LED vs Morimoto HID

I decided the replace LED with HID kit. Honestly I thought it would much better than LED. It is better just not a huge difference, guess I was expecting much better.

Its hard to see in the pictures but there are some black spots in the lighting. Anyone have these spots with HID kit? it may be just the way the projects made.

Yes the dark spots will be normal on the stock projectors with HID bulbs. I've had 3 different kits on my truck and they all had some dark spots. The best distribution is going to be with the small electrode that is outside the glass pointed down at 6 o'clock orientation.

 

By the way, maybe the picture doesn't really do it justice but what's wrong with the HID photo? Looks way better than the LED photo....... to me at least.

Yea the HID is better, I guess I was expecting a better light distribution with HID. as you mentioned its probably the stock projectors.

The streetlight is on in one picture and not in the other, affecting the camera exposure. Unless you lock the exposure, you can't compare the two on light output

From my untrained eye, I'd say the HID's are giving off more/better light.
