Does this plug plug directly where the old plug (jump seat) plugs into or does it have to be spliced?

I'm hoping the big grey plug is plug and play , also the 110v is also. Them the USB and the one other cigarette lighter type plug, will have to be spliced to make 2 because the old console only had one. I also ordered the hdmi plug or whatever it's called I guess will be jumperred to go to the USB's ?

If you have a jump seat, the big grey connector is not even there on your truck. The current jump seat plugs up under the passenger seat.

Update, removed seat and rail. Unplugged jump seat. Removed old wiring from jump seat . Took the jump seat apart and carefully removed the harness. So if I use the original harness and what was left at the dash I can get all the exterior plugs and usb's working, just nit the inside the box lighting and usb's. I will look at the situation and see what I can do. Also I have 2 of the HDMI cables that came in my order for some reason

You should be able to get the light inside the console working, I was able to do it with the inside plugs working as well. I did this install on a 2014 Silverado.. I'll try to find the picture that I used and that helped me get it working..

Much appreciated, I have read the original thread till I'm blue in the face. I'm trying to help myself along with others with the wiring. Please chime in and add pics and info. I was about to strip the new harness ands see what is net but it would save my much time if you could assist. I also have pics of the harness but my tablet wont let me upload again ????

All my parts come in today. I've locked things over and I feel the easiest way would be swop harness and just add the console light and the extra 12v up front. Everything else will work minus the front bank of USB's. There I'm kinda of lost on what to do. Would a USB cable plugged into the glovebox port ran to a micro male cable, ran to the front bank of 3 to work?? That's what I'll try first anyway, now I just need to see if I can find a USB male to micro USB male.

51 Stovebolt have you gotten any further on your plan?

I'm thinking the same thing, one thing I was looking for was another (plug) for the extra 12v (lighter) but then decided to just cut it from new console . The other question is there has to be a (plug) that GM has to make this work like the trucks it came standard in? As I was installing the brace I looked to see where one could be? I wonder if anyone has gained access to behind that area? Anyway I'm going slower because I have decided to go ahead and do stereo install. But my other question is " the trucks that came with them standard, do they have the glove box USB's" ? Me personally I don't care if the USB's in the "box" have data, as long as they charge. The 3 up front will have data and power, I'm good if they just have power up front. I would like to have the card slot working in the box and the light is a must !!

Update

I had to switch USB ports inside the console to retain CarPlay. Had to exchange the 2 USB and SD reader module for the old one out of my jump seat console, with just 2 USB ports and an audio in.

I'll update this later with my progress but wouldn't to toss that helpful nugget out there in case you use CarPlay.

Always my front cig adapters aren't working. I just splice the 2nd into the first one. It should work in theory, but I never tested or used it before so it could have never worked for all I know. Anyone know what fuse controls that cig adapter and which fuse box it is in?

Thanks

wow, to be clear. Are you saying that the 3 USB's at the front of the tray that looks like a direct swap from the 2 USB's from old console will not work? I have my console in the house doing the wiring (have not tested anything yet) but the plugs look like they are like for like!! I agree with the cigarette splicing, never used them and probably won't but I want them to work. I'll work on mine and try to get power, car play is the least of my concern on any of the receptacles.

Ok here is where I am today. Completely stripped both harness today.1st off I decided to not worry about the USB,s in the console inside. But I did pull the cable for the card slot and other data cable , and left them uncut. I found the ground for the light , cig outlet in console and cig outlet on rear of console all tied into one. So I cut the cig socket closest to the harness end of the plug and tied in the light, cig inside and outside into that one plug(only splice I needed. My reasoning is that if I really wanted the inner card slot and USB to work I can rob from the glove box. But since I can secure it I usually leave my iPod locked in there. I have not plugged anything in yet but in theory it should work (lol) The only question I may have is that the light has a very thin wire that ran up into the console and can't see where it terminates, I assumed it's a switch that cuts the light on when the lid is open ??? Not sure!!! I wired it to power and will see what happenspost-165643-0-23384400-1491700982_thumb.jpg
