Auto up window switch

Think several here have asked this question, but no one has tried. This is something I'd want to tackle in the near future. The last mod I put out, the comment was "Stop figuring out how to make all these electrical mods work correctly. You are making my wish list grow and grow". [emoji51].

 

But I would like to have this feature too.

Does the driver window switch have multiple contacts in it? A common, then the contacts for up and down control then contacts for auto up and auto down? Or is it done off metering the position of the switch to determine what you want done? I would guess the latter since that's more difficult to hack and would cost less to mass produce.

So it's gonna take some effort to get this done. Time to do some digging and testing ideas. I guess the 1st thing would be finding a 3 position switch for the master and the passenger

Last time this was talked about I seem to remember the BCM came into the equation as part of the process, so it is not merely a hardware issue but also a software issue. Funny thing is my 2017 Camaro does auto up/down on both windows.

What's interesting too is you can use the key fob to remotely lower all the windows (if you have this turned on under the settings) but you can't make it automatically go up.

It's a major ordeal. Different motor, switch and wires to every window. Possibly BCM programming as well. Not a simple task. Never seen anybody attempt it.
