2006 Silverado Sits Low In The Front End?

So I bought a used Silverado 2500HD duramax. The previous owner stated that he had the torsion bars turned up a bit. But the truck does not sit level and it bugs the crap out of me. I noticed it had a rear block under the leaf springs in the back? Do they all come with that from factory? I have attached pictures. I am also running 275 70 18 tires which rub in the front any ideas how to get it to sit level?

That block is not factory, but it looks extremely small. It would barely make a difference to take it out. He probably cranked the torsion bars the wrong way

The block removal will make a 2 inch difference ( down) with the spring deflection over a wider spring area. . I would NOT crank "Up" the T bars any as your ride will be Very very stiff, tire wear will increase too. Level it by lowering the rear and run 265/75R16 tires ( bigger than stock) and no hitting.

BUt If your all about "stance" vs performance hauling or towing, then open the wallet and experiment! Good luck!

The more you raise it , the less you can haul and tow, and the worse the ride.... The ALL sat a little low in front, but ride level when hauling a load or towing.

I don't think it's too low in front, it looks too high in the rear. I agree with Formulabruce.

 

One thing I like about GM 4X4's is that they don't use blocks under the rear springs.

I think he torqued the torsion bar the wrong way which is why they're rubbing

Thanks for the replies. So I crawled under the truck and the bolts for the torsion bars do look tightened in half way. I have a 97 1500 that I cranked the bars up and they have way more threads showing on the adjusting bolts and the truck sits way higher in the front then this 2500?? Could the torsion bars be worn out or something?
