Are Bushwacker pocket style flares worth the $$$?

Ive got a 2016 Silverado 1500 that i plan to keep for 5-7 years and I'm about to lift it 4.5 inches and add 34 inch ridge grapplers. I'm wondering what other people's thoughts are about adding the Bushwacker pocket flares to the look of the truck for the price.

im not a huge fan of them myself either. when i see older trucks for sale with them i always think to myself. what kind of rust issues are they trying to hide with those

they dont cause the rust. i just always think that they are added to cover up wheel wells rusting

dont think they are worth it personally but thats just my opinion

Do you think they add to the look of lifted trucks?

in my opinion no, but if you like them go for it!

If they fasten with screws, bolts they will promote rust. In Illinois unavoidable. :happysad:

What am I missing then, as far as exterior mods that go well with a lift? Ive got mud flaps, tires, rims, and tint.

I will say that they are likely worth it if you have wheel offset that extends the tire past the wheel well. My tires and rims stick out a little and about two weeks ago after taking it off road to the range it got a rock stuck in the tread that came out on the highway and caused a chip in my driver side window. Plus with how thin I hear the paint is on these newer GMs it's probably a worthwhile addition if you like the look and want to keep the paint fresh. However if you already have front mudflaps it may be overkill.

They bolt to the stock holes except for about three holes at the top... the bolts are 100% fake.

But you can get the same product for 80% less searching eBay

if it were me, i wouldnt add much more than that. you could add an led light bar (behind grille is my personal favorite) and take off the air dam. but sounds like u have a beautiful truck, id love to see some pics

they are hideous , there are plenty of other mods that would look great for the money!

I've been tempted to get those fender flares ever since I got my lift, but I think it is (or is about to be) a dated look. Plus, the painted sets cost about $800. I did pass a 2500 with a small lift the other day with color matched BW extend a fenders that looked really good - best look I've seen thus far in terms of fender flares.
