Adjusting King Coils

Recommended Posts

I'm going to be putting my kings on next weekend and I'm shooting for 3" of lift. Can anyone tell me how much I have to adjust then in order to achieve 3"? I would like to adjust them before they go on my truck since it's a lot easier

I would say at least 5-6 full turns. I have 3 full turns on mine and I'm still sitting a little bit nose down.

How much lift over stock do you have and what's your wheel and tire set up. I'm trying to clear some 34s

And how much lift do you have in the rear?

What width 34's are you trying to clear? I'm definitely going to be following this to see if it works for you.

According to fox for their 2.5 coilover every 2 turns is equal to 1/4 of lift, and the spring should measure 11.3 inches unloaded for 3" of lift. Not sure if king is exactly the same, but it's a reference point.

Email king support they'll be more than happy to answer those questions for you

34 11.5 17. They should work with minor trimming. People have been fitting 33s with leveling kits

I'm not sure the extra 0.5" of lift (over a 2.5" level) will boost the fenders high enough that you won't rub. I guess it might just get the midpoint of the tire below the fender and allow you to put the 34" in there. Are they actually 34's though? Or 33.5 or 34.5? Which tire are you looking at specifically?

People were doing 33s on a 2" level.

But they are true 34s I think the actual size is 285 75 17 nitto trail grapplers

I'm not sure of how much lift because I didn't measure before they were installed. Im running 275/70/18's on a 0 offset wheel. I have no lift in the rear.

I have 285/55/22 nitro trail graps on +18 wheels and I had to trim some of the felt liner and zip tie a bit but other than that she don't rub...I am running Icon shocks at 3"

So you didn't have to trim any metal?

Those Trail Graps are 34.53" x 12.05".

I'm installing my Kings in the next week or two and have been wanting to try 0 offset 18's with 295/70r18 Cooper Discoverer STT Pros. But they are 34.49" x 12" and I figured it would require a good bit of metal trimming.

Nope...no metal trimming...just had to trim the felt liner and a little bit of the plastic fender guards on the GMC...there is a little rub on the LCA
