Driver Door Lock

So I noticed today that when I press the "lock" button on my drivers side door, nothing happens. The unlock button works fine, as does the key fob. I try the passenger door, and its lock and unlock function works fine.

Any ideas what the issue may be? I don't have the delayed lock function activated; I looked into the settings. I haven't taken the door apart for anything, and the last thing I had installed in my truck was the Kicker sub/amp, but I don't believe they took apart the door for anything as it's plug & play.

Any ideas?

Edit: It appears to work fine when I am inside the truck and the doors are closed. I also have tried with the keys not in the ignition and the drivers door open, but still it will not work.

It's probably a feature to save people from themselves. Won't lock with the door open to prevent locking the keys inside.

I was wondering that, but I could have sworn I was able to lock it before when exiting the truck. Does anyone else's do this?

mine does, cannot lock the door with the door switch have to use key or remote when outside the truck and no key in the ignition. but when my battery died and the key was in the ignition as soon as i connected new battery it locked me out of the truck. now when i use the remote to unlock the door and open it , it chimes like there is a key in the ignition but the key is in my hand. then i can put the key in and close and open the door and it doesnt chime just haunted lol

Have you tried disconnecting the battery again for a while to see if it resets that? It would be annoying as heck to have it chime like that.

Mine just started doing the exact same thing yesterday, in the past I have always been able to lock the door with the drivers door switch, now I can only unlock.
