Driver footwell module wire size?

For those who have added footwell lights to car by taping into the dome light wire under the driver side. What size is the dome light wire? I have some led strips i want to put into my footwell but not sure which splicer size to use to connect led strip wire to the footwell dome light wire.

I used 22AWG. The wiring for lighting bounces between 22AWG and 24AWG.
