Upgrade Preference - Catback or Tuner 2017 Silverado 5.3

Thanks guys. I went to the diablo forums and sounds like there are still some issues for some people. May not have all the bugs worked out yet? Anyone with a 17 5.3 6 speed have input?

I went with hp tuners. I bought the handheld and the software. I also had to send my TCM (trans controller) to them to get it unlocked as the new T87A TCM's are locked up like fort knox.

 

I am going to have a local shop do the tune but I want to learn the software myself and also be able to flash back to stock on my own.

 

HPtuners also offers this which I thought was really neat.

That seems like a tremendous amount of work. you have to send them your info every time? And wait for them to send you a tune?

If you prefer canned tuned instead of a tune specifically for you truck and mods thay came from data gathered from your truck than you may be better off with some thing simpler.

Yeah not looking to get crazy with the tunes just a little performance and AFM delete will do. The diablo sounds like it maybe the trick as long as it works and can change from time to stock pretty easy

Diablo doesn't work. Had a friend who manages an O'Reilly store call them yesterday because they supposedly have a new update that allows their tuner to work. Tried 3 times and it would not load after updating the tuner. Wild is right call the manufacturer directly and ask if their tuner works on the 2017s. If yes have them put it in writing that they will refund cost of tuner plus shipping if it doesn't work.

Bought a diablosport intune i2030 i2 used off a guy for my 16' sierra 5.3 6 speed auto, works great. Deleted AFM and put their standard tune on, truck drives like a dream and takes like 3 minutes to return the tune back to stock.
