SilveradoSaver Posted June 11, 2017 Posted June 11, 2017 I know there's a lot of posts on this, but I was just curious if anyone had purchased a truck off the lot and requested the dealership to colour-match the existing bumper/grill/etc. that were currently on the truck as part of your "deal?" I'm not talking about ordering a new truck from the factory. I see so many people on this forum colour-matching. I'm pretty sure a dealership would be happy to do this as part of the deal as it's probably a fairly cheap thing for them to do. Anyways, just curious if anyone has done this and if so, what was the response?
O_J_Simpson Posted June 11, 2017 Posted June 11, 2017 Why? Too easy to pick a color matched trim package off the lot.

More cost effective to just buy the one in the lot you want. Believe me, so many people regret not making the right choice when they get the vehicle home. But yea, sure it can be matched. But I would buy the truck as is, buy the primered bumper and grill and light trim and have it painted. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
SilveradoSaver Posted June 11, 2017 Author Posted June 11, 2017 I should clarify, I'm not actually doing this myself. I was just curious if anyone has gone this route. So many people colour match their bumpers on here I just question why this wasn't a question in the first place when buying the truck.
Justin101714 Posted June 11, 2017 Posted June 11, 2017 Because it's really honestly not a question to be asked, not trying to be offensive. But GM just makes the truck that way on purpose. Ultimately their goal is to get you to buy the higher trim level vehicle, I'll never understand why high countries have chrome trim everywhere.....but it's not necessarily about asking...this is why forums are fantastic and why they exist for people to show off their experiences and their modifications, not necessarily to figure out why people ask if the bumper can be paint to match by the dealer or not. It's up to you really. The dealer is more than likely not going to go through all of that to make the deal go through. Accessories are one thing, but if I was the sales manager in this case I would be showing you a truck that comes with that option because after labor and paint you'd only be a couple thousand away from getting the truck that came with it and it's covered under warranty if it's damaged. Now granted the sentence structure isn't accurate, I believe that is around two paragraphs. Maybe I should have you check all of the posts I've made on the forum as well just to be sure they are to your liking, because I'm just so deeply seeking your approval.

Well paragraphing helps people with dyslexia or a short attention span read. I didn't say you did anything wrong or anything about your intelligence.... was a simple suggestion. Sorry if I offend you, was not my goal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
SilveradoSaver Posted June 12, 2017 Author Posted June 12, 2017 Oh boy! Chrome vs Mono debate again ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk The point of the topic was a simple question if anyone had asked the dealership to do this as they were making a deal. That was all. Not a conversation about which is better. If you can show me a topic that touches on this specific question, then please share, as I did not see one.

Dnt Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 My dealership would simply laugh and point you to a truck with the color matched bumper etc that you wanted. Now on to more important (impotent) stuff than even semantics and grammar. I want to vinyl wrap my 22" Denali Ultimate chrome inserts to the Stone Blue Metallic paint color of my truck. Does anyone know where can I get that vinyl wrap stuff? and how hard is it to work with?
SuperSierra Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 You guys are being rude Why comment after he stressed 3 times now of what he was looking for, if you don't know don't answer. Silveradosaver was asking a question not for your condescending answers... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
