Question(Lift/Tune)

I'm thinking about purchasing a 6 inch lift for my truck(2015 1500 5.3l 3.42) but I'm worried about the truck becoming sluggish with the lift even with a tuner. I know these new motors are different beasts than older generations of motors/tranny/gearing setups. But I was wondering how much of a change is it after you lifted your truck.

I'm hoping to limit responses to people with a tuner/6 inch lift because I know people say the tuner really makes these trucks a whole new animal.

It won't be as sluggish as you think with a tune on it even with the 35s. Gears will help bring it back but that's also pretty dang expensive. Lift it, put your 35s on it and tune it and see where you're at. If you want more you could do Intake/headers to help but the best way to get it back is gears

3.42 gears on 35s with tune shouldnt be too bad...youre looking at about 14mpg overall with CAI, exhaust

It's not bad... You won't regret it that I'm sure...black bear tuning made most of my power at least feel like it came back. But in my experience with other trucks as well...do it and before you know it you'll be used to the way it drives and the tune will just help from that point.

I went with a 6.5 lift with 35's and a tuner. Don't regret it. The tuner help out a lot. My Mpg is back to wear it was with the tune. Look into blackbear or inTune.

I agree with the posts above. I just went up 6" with a tune on my 6.2L with 3.23 gears and the drop in power is not an issue.

Can you feel it, yes -- but it doesn't effect 99% of the driving I do each day, and it certainly doesn't feel "sluggish".

If it had come from the factory this way, I probably wouldn't notice the difference - it only stands out through direct comparison.
