... I received one as well. Apparently it comes with a ton of restrictions. It's pretty much a stand alone offer that can't be combined with almost everything. There are a few exceptions, I think GM credit card points is 1 and there are a few other odd promos. Hope the info helps, good luck!

Sounds like a sales gimmick to me. On your deal with this "Private Offer" what percentage is your actual purchase price below the MSRP? If you are patient you should easily get offers at 20% off MSRP This ad was from last year around July 4th but it seems like I have seen the similar ads here lately.

Is this a private offer popup on the website or some type of mailer? I'm looking to get an LTZ Silverado with the 6.2L and they only have a 1,500 rebate right now, so if applicable, something like this would sure help since the factory rebate hasn't been great on LTZs the last couple of months.

Just got one in the mail, $4k off a truck and $5k off the large SUVs.

I received an email with the offer in it. I believe there is a master list that dealerships can look at to see if your eligible. It's a little confusing in my opinion, because 1 dealer I spoke to about a truck actually told me about the rebate before I mentioned that I had it. The dealership made it sound like the could request a 1 time use code, from GM for $4k if I wanted their truck.

My email included a specific promotion code in addition to a pin number. And it clearly states it's only transferable to someone at my mailing address.

Maybe ask the dealship if they can request the discount from GM on your behalf for the $4k. I don't think it could be stacked with the $1500, but you might get lucky and either way you'd still be ahead another $2500. Good luck!

So there are different types of these promos and it's possible you got the good one because I just did so I know they're going around.

You can tell if it's a legitimately good offer because below the amount advertised off it will say something like "negotiate your best price with the dealership and then use this offer to sweeten the deal". This means it's a straight kickback from GM and the dealer should legitimately be able to knock another $4k off their best price. It will include an authorization number and a pin and can only be used by you or your significant other.

Now remember we are dealing with car dealerships here so who knows what you may hear but let me tell you, I just used this rebate to buy a 2500HD Duramax 3 days ago and it is legit. No way I would have gotten the deal I did without it.

Figure what you think the best deal you could get on the truck you are looking at and subtract $4k and see if you can get someone to match it. Make sure they know you have an authorization number. They had to enter mine into some system and then sign a few different forms for it so the dealership would get reimbursed.

Just don't let them screw you on trade in/apr just to show you a good sale price, happens all the time. Go in with truck price, trade in value, and interest rate you think you can qualify for and show them how you got the price you want and then let them try to get to it...good luck!
