Contractor Regional Meeting - 8spd comments at dinner

I am a utility contractor in the SE and our company does quarterly regional meetings. So when you get 100-125 guys in a hotel convention setting for two days, trucks are always a topic at the table. One of the guys I've known over the past few years bought a GMC 1500 with the 8spd. He was complaining to another guy who has the new F150, about the 8spd and how it sucks. Surging, always hunting for a gear etc. He's taking it to have it checked out... I didn't bring anything up about all the posts online. I just listened. Mind you these are guys that are not on forums, trucks are just tools to them. I'm one of the few guys that is car crazed and joins forums and restores older vehicles. I heard him say he likes everything about the truck expect the engine and transmission. Funny to hear these things come up.
