Windshield tint

Can you, and is it legal to, are two very different questions.

Funny enough, the answer to both is yes. Just not in the way I'm guessing you meant. You can legally put tint on your front windshield at and above the AS1 line. Below this line is illegal. It must be 25% or higher.

I'm guessing you mean tint covering the whole windshield. Legally, the answer is no. Practically, you could probably get away with something like 80-90% without trouble. I'm sure others have gone darker... Do they run into problems? Not sure. A question not asked...The exception to this is un-tinted film. This is legal on your windshield.

Good luck!

One of the problems with windshield tint in Texas is you have to leave a rectangular "hole" for the registration tag and then worry each year that you don't cut the tint when removing the expired tag.
