It would be for myself, the driver, when I stop at a rest site.

My response was to clarify KARNUT's first sentence, "My wife always lays out in the back when we travel." He was referring to when they pull over and nap.

At 6'1" and working graveyard after hanging out with friends on Sunday afternoon/evening, there have been plenty of Sunday nights that I have "camped out" on the back seat or in the driver's seat, in the parking lot at work, because I needed a power nap before work. Been toying with the idea of finding an air mattress for the back floor (with seats folded up), for just that kind of Sunday night. I've stumbled across an air mattress for the bed of the truck, but I'm not getting one of those until I invest in a shell, or for my truck (long) bed trailer, after I buy one and rebuild it how I want it.

I just saw this, I was talking about the back seat, not the bed of the truck while I'm driving.

You might just cut a sheet of plywood and stuff some padding under it in the footwell pockets of the floor to level it. Then a foam futon and your bag will make it comfy.

This is what I made for my dogs to travel. 1/2" plywood, 3" foam, moving quilt.. I climbed on it. I could easily sleep on it comfortably. Room for long guns, cases of wine or fishing poles underneath.

I recall seeing this when you first posted it a while back. Looks awesome. You should sell these things. Looks like storing it away is pretty easy too.
