Sleeping

Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone has come across/modified anything to covert the crew cab into a sleeping area? Basically folding up the rear seat and something for the floor as the hump would not be comfortable lol.

I do not want a canopy for the bed and would be rare that I use it, but I do sometimes do go on long drives for work and would be nice to lay out a bit versus being confined to the rear bench seat.

Thanks!

I've seen an air mattress made just for that.

Do you have a link?

A regular air mattress wouldn't work ideally.

I've thought this would be a great idea, but at 6'4" I don't see it happening lol.

Thanks. I am looking more for something right on the ground though, but this is pretty close.

Haha, ya, might just want to recline the front seat  I'm 6 ft. so I should be ok for the back.

In my old Tahoe, I was able to grind off a retaining nut, which allowed the front seat to fully recline. i haven't looked to see if this is possible in our trucks, but something to maybe look at

I have a tonneau cover and a BedRug. Works great and is REALLY comfortable since you can stretch out the whole length of the bed (I have the 6'6" bed)!!

If floor level is what you want, maybe a trip to an upholstery supply for some foam rubber cut to fill the low pockets.

Another idea would be just cut a sheet of plywood to fit and throw a cheap foam futon in it along with your sleeping bag.

My wife always lays out in the back when we travel. She came up with cushions from out side lawn chairs stuffed into a sleeping bag. My wife's pretty cheap, she got everything at yard sales.

I wouldn't recommend anyone sleeping on a bed setup while the truck is in motion. We find that the front seats fully reclined are conducive to a nice sleep. My wife will often nap while travelling but she is belted in and seated.

It was the driver talking about taking a nap.

It would be for myself, the driver, when I stop at a rest site.
