Opinions needed on midnight edition grill

Hey guys,

Currently own a 2015 midnight edition 1500 Chevy and have always hated the chrome slats in the front grill.

I recently installed OEM towing mirrors with chrome back-caps hoping they would play off the chrome in the grill and make feel better about it. Turns out I was wrong. Now instead of having one thing chrome that I hate; I have two lol.

To fix this I've enlisted a local shop that does professional spray-on dips (Halo EFX) to dip the grill and back-caps black. My question to you all is: matte black or gloss black?

I find myself changing my mind back and forth multiple times a day so feel free to give me your choice and why

I have to say I like the chrome on the grill. Way better then my 15 LTZ with chrome everywhere. I really want a black Z71 grill.

I also have 2015 midnight edition...I personally love the grill and that little bit of chrome. If it were me I would definitely go with the gloss black mirror caps and leave the grill the way it is

If I'd had to choose, I'd go Matte Blk... it'd look more custom and give contrast against that Gloss Blk... Mod On...[emoji482]

I am glad my midnight edition doesnt have those chrome inserts. Cant say I like the look of them. I would paint the inserts to match the rest of the grill

It looks nice with the chrome in there! Are you familiar with black chrome? You could spray the chrome and turn it into a darker chrome. That would actually look pretty nice

Figured I'd update you guys. Truck went into the shop this morning and I just picked it back up. Thank you for all your suggestions. Xpensive's opinion grabbed me for some reason so I went with matte. I'm really pleased with how it turned out! Owner of the shop also convinced me to do the bow tie....

The grill and bow ties came out perfect. I can't find a flaw if I tried. However, the mirror back caps have slight imperfections around the edges. I found out after calling the shop that the grill was disassembled and dipped by itself while the mirrors were done while still on the truck.

I guess the paint guy didn't realize they're removable. I'm debating pulling them off myself and asking them to touch them up or trying to find someone with OEM black textured caps that would trade me. I was just going to buy them from GMparts until I found out it would be $180 for the 4 pieces [emoji15]
