Vacuum pump going out

Thank you so much!! I'm probably going to delete it, plumb it into the intake manifold and get a AFM delete plug-in module. V4 mode sucks anyway. Now, where to get vacuum from the intake manifold??? I know there is a port for the PCV, only one I have seen. Tee it into the PCV suction hose?

If you do this keep us posted. I would be interested in your results.

I found one complaint on Edmunds where his vacuum pump went out 3 weeks after the 3yr warranty. $1,900 job. I have PIT5361. They say to replace the pump, hose, booster and master cylinder. If the vacuum pump is bad and gets replaced, why do all the other items need replaced ??? I'm lost on that. So I'm looking at $1,900 for the Vac pump and $1,200 for the condenser repair based on others. $3,100... That's a lot of good money at somethings that will happen again in 3yrs probably. Now I know why people give up and just buy the outdated reliable crappy Tundra.

when the pump grenades it allows engine oil to contaminate the hose and booster hence the replacement recommendation. not sure why the master cylinder would need to be replaced.

my pump is not gernaded, just "weak" if you ask me. or wore out. I'm pulling hose tomorrow at the booster and check for oil. If I don't have oil the pump just needs replaced.

Update. I took my truck in for the recall, ac condenser and few other items. They said the vacuum assist system was fine. No oil or issues. I noticed they installed a new vacuum line to booster bushing. Probably because when removing to check vacuum the old bushing broke. Since this, it's been fine. I honestly think the bushing was dry rotting out. They charged me no labor and $11 for the part. Awesome deal. Glad I didn't have a vac pump going out.

Can’t argue with that. Glad it worked out.

Same thing just happened in my truck. 65,000 miles, heavy pedal hard to depress at slow speeds and in reverse. Dealership said faulty vacuum pump.

AJMTB, did the vac pump come apart or just start to become weak? I'm at 91k and still on the factory pump.  Pedal has been good since the dealer replaced the booster vacuum line grommet.
