Just found this leak on my 6 week old truck with 3200 miles

I was putting a lower level kit on my 6 week old truck today and noticed this leak. I had already installed the passenger side which went pretty smooth. Once I started dis assembly of the drivers side I noticed this. I snapped a picture just for documentation because I figure the dealer will try to blame the lowering leveling blocks. Has anyone else seen this? I'm curious were the leak is coming from. I may pull the skid plate tomorrow and see If I can tell were its coming from.

Spray it off with some brake cleaner and see if it actually is leaking, or if its just some old oil on there.

I would hand the tech a bottle of Crown and hope for the best. You level it, you own it as you changed the geometry of the suspension and GM does not like that..

Excellent response if an earlier year truck. But with a '17 hope, it's just a bad gasket.

It could very well be some gear oil that somehow spilled on the diff during assembly and was missed by QC.

I called a friend of mine that works in a service department at a dealership this morning. I sent him the picture and told him I found it while installing the lower leveling blocks. He said it looked like the axle shaft seal, he also said they have seen a couple that were leaking and that they would take care of it. He also set me up a appointment for this Thursday.
