Yup cheapest I’ve seen is $135 for brackets only at autoanything. That’s a crazy price for that in my opinion.

Agreed. Seems like you could have a machine shop bend and paint your own custom bracket for less.

Flat steel at a home improvement store and some time measuring, hammering, and drilling?  I get the convenience of something ready to go, but I can't justify that convenience at that price until the next powerball drawing at least

 

'Truck improvement projects' (I should trademark that now) are the best kind for me because of the fiddling and experimentation, though I do understand those folks where that's not their thing.  To me that bracket looks like $18 of materials from Home Depot that end up as a bracket for me and a gift for a friend or two.

There is also this one by rough country that is similar if you are specifically looking for a license plate mount. Same lumen output.
