Leveling Kit vs. Upper Control Arms

I currently have a Rancho 4" suspension lift on my truck, but it still has the factory rake.  I would like to level my truck but do not want to run into issues with my ball joints, etc.  I have been told that I should go the aftermarket UCA route but I do not have any knowledge of these or how they compare to a normal level kit.  Would I be better off getting some Blistein shocks or can that not be done with the suspension lift already on the truck?

Cheapest and best solution, from a mechanical geometry perspective, is to take out some of the riser blocks your rear suspension undoubtedly has from the 4”  lift kit.   Everything done to raise the front with spacers or shocks, changes the geometry of the A-arms at their ride height. This changes the mechanical leverage on the shock/spring and effectively makes the spring act like it’s stiffer. So shock/spring assemblies designed to raise the front like the King, Icon, Fox, etc, have softer springs to compensate. But they’re pricey. 

 

Take out the 4” spacer block in the rear and put in a 3” block.
