Tinted Turn Signals

Has anyone tinted their front turn signals to get rid of the amber look? I'm between this and opening up the headlights to remove it completely but still nervous about putting the headlight into the oven and then sealing it back up properly. If you happen to have pictures please post!:)

I have a friend who has used VHT nightshade for years to tint signals in heads, tails, and mirror housings.  I have never been inclined to do it, but he has always had excellent results.  Seems like a better alternative than opening up the housings to me.

Yes, I've seen guys tint with the VHT nite shade rattle can spray or install some Lamin-X tinted film.  Bulb is still bright enough for the most part.

I looked into that a ton and settled with just swapping out my HID LT headlights for the LED LTZ headlights that are clear anyways.

Ended up finding a smoking deal on one - after I got them color matched, I'm going to be ahead about $100 or so profit once my old headlights sell.

That's also with a harness from Pgamboa.  Just a little food for thought.

i ultimately would love to do this but don't have the money to foot the cost up front despite knowing the true difference after selling the old ones. Where did  you find the deal? Just like ebay or somewhere similar?

Yes sir, Ebay/FB marketplace & local body shops/garages.  Just keep an eye out, one pops up every now and then.

Got my passenger side for $250 off FB marketplace (which inspired me to do the upgrade).  It was painted red.

Got my driver side shipped from a body shop out of Dallas for $700.  It was painted black.

And smart move, good rule of thumb.  Maybe keep an eye out for a credit card that has 0% interest for 12-18 months after signing up.

I opted to open mine up to replace the turn signals and marker lights with clear lenses.  I posted about it here:

I agree with ChevyRoofer - if I had it to do over again, I would have skipped this step and gone straight to LTZ lights, hard to find as they are, so I could make some money back selling the OEM set I started with.  I wouldn't feel comfortable selling my current lights as they are now unless someone came to see them in person first.

Us 14/15 guys don’t having the luxury of buying the 16/17 ltz and getting clear lenses. Lol. I went with Klearz. Opening it wasn’t too bad. More nervous than difficult. I’d do it again.

We can, but we’ll have to spend $2-3k to do it. Lol. Not as easy as swapping out just the headlights like you can on the 16/17’s.
