Well, could not take the Goodyear SRAs anymore. Put a set of Defender LTX-MS on in 275-65-18 flavor. This is a 2016 CC-SB. WOW, is all I can say. It was like getting a new truck all over again. Put about 20 miles on them, then went on a 360 mile trip, so with 380 miles on them, I park in the garage and look at them, there is STILL some of the nubs on the tread side still. Ride ?  Its like following a paver machine, SMOOTH over everything. Traction ? Night and day difference. The confidence level is WAY up there now. Northern Wi. had snow on Halloween, plenty more since, and icey roads. Now I bomb around the back country without a care.  Only way to improve on these is to go to a full blown winter tire. Had Michelin in the past, Last 2 sets went 75,000 and 80,000  each, hope these NEW ones wear the same. Dont know how Michelin gets the life they do with great traction, sure glad they figured it out. I guess if paying THAT much for tires, they better be worth it. So far,  VERY happy with these new skids. YMMV.

nice!!!.. .about to put some Michelin LTX M/S2 on the wife's ford edge... i've heard great things about them and they are top rated.. 70k tread wear warrenty!

Have Defenders on my car and wife's truck. Ride nice and are quite. I also am heading for 70K plus miles on my 15's stock Bridgestone. There is allot to be said for a good alignment faithful rotation with it comes to tire life.

Running the same here. There is simply no comparison whatsoever. OP is dead on. It’s a vastly superior tire in every way. My 5th set of Mich LTX. Never the first problem.

I learned on this forum and have confirmed that the truck sized Defenders took a hit in the '18 version of Consumer Reports.  It still receives a high overall rating but different than previously reported.  "Wet braking", if I recall,  is the 2018 difference.    The concern I have is with Consumer Reports and not with Michelin tires.  We just had the wettest November in 60+ years and my year old Defenders behaved beautifully!

This is good to hear since I'm getting the Michelin Defender LTX M/S installed on Saturday from Costco ($1000 canadian all in) and was wondering if I should have went with the BFG KO2's or Falken Wildpeaks instead.

I got my Defenders last year and still look new. They have been awesome so far and I will be getting the same set again when these wear out.

My only beef with Michelin is cost. The Pirelli Scorpion Verde all season is just as good (in the world I live in) and $50 cheaper per tire on average. Frankly I don't get Michelin pricing.

Michelin + Costco is a great combination, imo.  You'll have no regrets. and  I believe the Defender is your best choice.

      You're better read than that Atlas. 😏   British science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke formulated three adages that are known as Clarke's three laws, of which the third law – that "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" – is the best known and most widely cited.   Stribeck and the pivotable Hersey Number isn't voodoo nor snake oil. That part is physics. It's what marketing and bean counters do with it that is snake oil and voodoo.    Stribeck is the relationship between Hersey and the Coefficient of Friction. Within the Hersey Equation if viscosity and viscosity is 'Dependent' on.......heat.......and.......viscosity index or the temperature to viscosity slope.    Specifically Hersey is the viscosity AT THE TEMPERATURE IN THAT LOCATION FOR THAT SLOPE.   Hydrodynamic lubrication exist when the film thickness in the location is 3X the Ra roughness of the surface. This is irrespective of the hardness of the substrate. To obtain that thickness X viscosity is required for Y velocity at Z load. That's a lot of moving parts. It is also impossible to maintain in an ICE but nearly possible with a turbine under constant load.    What does that mean? Error heavy and operate light. Wear is inevitable but the rate of wear and the milage obtainable are a function of prevailing conditions and HABITS. The only penalty is viscous drag and at fractions so low as to be well worth the effort. Double the life, half the manufacturing carbon foot print. Greed is the only impediment.    The materials generated by SwRI are the RESULT not an estimation or a hypothesis.    Don't delude yourself sir, EV's have as many pitfalls as ICE's. We just don't know what they are yet and it will take longer to sort as MARKETING and GREEDY CEO's have had more time to polish the turd they are selling.

      You can always count on greed to prey on ignorance and stupidity.    Friend bought a 2019 Ford Flex and asked me about using Valvoline R&P 5W30 in it. Told him give the miles on it and the fact it wasn't yet using oil that it was a good plan. He uses a Valvoline quick change shop for his oil service.   First they tell him that isn't the oil the OEM recommends. He told them he didn't care what the OEM thought. Then they floated the, "But it will void your warranty"    His reply was it's a 2019, there is no warranty and informed them their knowledge of the law was lacking.    Then they tell him 'But it will ruin your motor"!.    Mine to ruin he says. Finally they give in and charge him 150% the semi-syn price    Point it the brainwash is so embedded that even the service industry is drunk on their swill. The public is right behind them. Echoing the same lies on every forum and media platform. If the end goal is indeed EV then I'd say that ship is about built.
