Feels like stuck in tow haul

Ok so on the way to church this morning everything was fine until about 15 mins into the drive I stop at a light and took off and it started driving like in tow haul mode. This is an 06 duramax, I put it in M and it shifted fine but still kinda like tow haul because it’s in M, it shifts a little above 2k and doesn’t downshift, CEL came on not sure what’s going on please help!

First, need to have the code read. If you know anyone with a reader. Or autozone can do it. And go from there

I had it read and there’s a power train loss of communication and some kind of trans malfunction codes ou1000 and PO700

The trans is probably in fail safe then. Did you have the code cleared?

They said they weren’t allowed to should I take it to the dealer to have it read?

They might be able to tell you more. As to why the codes are coming up. Someone else might be able to chime in and help.

Probably because it is in fail safe mode.

Yes. Over time, parts wear out. It could be a bug and just lost communication, or there could be something wrong. Can’t really tell over the computer. Someone with more info will hopefully add information in
