My Chevrolet app Vehicle Locator??

Was playing around with the vehicle locator in the My Chevrolet app the other day and it seems that it is locating my phone and not where my truck is parked. Any ideas??

Go to parked location and click "clear location" then tap "locate vehicle"

hum, I have 'set location" is that the same? When I hit that it is locating my phone

on the second picture mine doesnt say 'Locate Vehicle" but "set location" Maybe this is only good with the free months of On Star? I never continued subscription

or is it part of the free 5 year subscription? I know it worked at one time, just havent tried it for a long time

Locating vehicle is part of paid Onstar subscription. Setting location (which uses phone location) is included in the free 5 year package.

This tool is for when you go to the ballgame and don't want to forget where you parked. Yes, it is using your phone's gps location to save a pin on the map. you have to do it when you're near your truck if you want to find it.

 

I think you could theoretically use this function to mark anything, not just your truck.
