I'm thinking about get a sunroof done on my regular cab. What kind of warranty voids would I possibly be looking at if I go through with it?

I doubt they’d void anything but all I can think of is if it starts to rust on the roof area they wouldnt honor the rust warranty lol

I would look into that even call the dealer if you wanted it installed when you bought it. They would send it to there approved shop and I’m pretty sure you would still have the warranty.

Since you are cutting into the roof of the cab this could lead to rust in the future. To be honest, since you would like to install this feature I would consult with the Mfg/Dealership. If they install it I cant and it fails then your warranty should hold up.

Your warranty will only be impacted to the extent that your sunroof is found to cause the problem.  The potential problems I can predict would be leaks and possibly rust.  What sunroof are you planning?  I've thought about this modification in the past, but thought it would be too difficult to make it look like it belongs.   I know that I would be exceptionally cautious buying a vehicle with an aftermarket sunroof!

I'm with Jaychevy81 I would call the dealer or even a couple dealers to see if this voids any of the warranty's.

Cutting a giant hole in your roof is going to change the structural characteristics of your cab. I would not do this. If you roll over or have any other type of crash, expect to be a meat pancake.

The place I'm going was recommended by my local dealer for leather seat install. When I called I was told about all their services and when I heard about the sunroof they do that's when the idea started to grow on me.

Some trucks come from the factory with sun roofs.  Do they build these cabs differently?  I can't imagine a noticeable impact on structural integrity with an aftermarket sun roof unless it is huge and stretches from pillar to pillar.

Your right you can always tell a aftermarket sun roof cause it has the gasket around it. I mean if it’s done correct then good but if not I have heard stories of them leaking.

Would the addition have the ability to mechanically slide back to open, or are you limited to kicking the rear up a couple inches?
It's a spoiler style sunroof so it'll slide back.
My truck would look exactly like this one.f657eb9cc6f2ac1850c5313fdcc206cc.jpg
