Just wondering what you guys are replacing the 16+ Silverado 2500HD factory running board steps with? I really like the look and function however after only one good winter they are starting to pit and corrode? Would like to keep the same low profile board and 6" width but not have to change them out every 2-3 years do to rust corrosion etc. thanks for any help.

Factory is probably equal to anything in that environment. Clean often and consider wax or oil to protect.

While they are under warranty GM will replace them.

Had the ones on our 16 replaced when they were about a year and an half old.

I wash the truck as often as possible. However in the winter tough to do. And refuse to use drive in car washes. But yes thanks. about the wax/polish

At what point did they replace them for you. My truck has just gone through its first winter-not over yet but hopefully soon. Its a 16 but was new off the lot last year. What did yours look like when they replaced them? And what or how did you get them done under warranty?  Mine look all pitted on the bottoms and the oxidization is starting to come up from the underneath to the part you see when your looking at the truck. Any help is great thanks!!

Forgot about that if your bumper to bumper is still good they will cover it.

I'm north edge of lake Erie, so winter here has lots of freeze/thaw/salt. Took truck possession fall of 15.  Boards spent one winter here and one in Arizona.

Last spring I noticed roughness and 'burring' from coating lifting on bottom of the boards. Tops had some areas that looked like they needed polishing, but no lifting of the chrome.

Was in for another reason and casually asked if they were having trouble with board corrosion.  Service inspected and said they would be replaced -- and indicated they had done lots of others.  Said they would likely have to order and schedule a return visit.  Ended up they had them in stock and installed during that visit.

Thanks for the help guys. Yes they have stated that the bumper to bumper warranty will cover this. Thanks again!
