Wind/Window Noise

My 99 new body style, extended cab Silverado has loud window noise from the passenger side window. The noise is coming from where the window seal at the top horizontal edge forward towards the front, through the forward curvature whenever there is even a slight wind. It gets scary loud from BOTH windows when I get above 90 mph

Is this a design issue with the 99s?

Anyone else experienced it?

What is the fix?

P.S. Yes, I have the windows rolled up. ;)

Rick, I haven't heard of that one yet. There is an issue with the excab windows, but I haven't heard about the front door windows creating a problem. I wonder if the molding (window channel) is getting worn or brittle?

Some wind noise around the mirrors isn't out of the question, and if you have a bug deflector and/or window ventvisors then that could be your problem.

Most of these new body style trucks have a problem when the wind is disrupted by a non-factory item like a bug deflector. Are you sure it isn't the windshield molding "flapping" in the wind?

I had my xtended cab windows replaced under warranty because of excessive wind noise, there is a TSB out about that.

This is a feature of your truck. It provides early warning that the speed limiter is about to kick in. Coincidently, this is also the same noise made by $$ flying out of your wallet from tickets and higher insurance resulting from getting caught at these speeds.

Speed limiter was raised to 126 w/hypertech programmer. I'll bet you are the guy I see in the passing lane doing 54mph driving an Avalanch....

54 is one of those speeds I quickly pass through on the way up or down. However, I've had to become more speed-aware lately as I need to practice what I preach to my son who just got two speeding tickets in as many weeks.
