I hope everyone reads this before buying one of these trucks

Well my rant continues. I have been reporting a vibration coming at low RPM ranges for the past 2 years of owning my 2014 Silverado high country 6.2L. I suspected it was the trans right away and was told "we cant replicate the noise" or "everything is within spec" by multiple dealers. Well at 104000 miles and less then 3 years old all hell broke loose on the tranny. I bring it into the dealership and they tear it down saying my torque converter and 3 of the gear packs are shot. I call GM for "assistance". a week later I get a call saying they will contribute 750 dollars towards a 3300 dollar job.. what a joke. Ive reported the issue since day one and everyone told me it was fine. Now, 4000 miles out of warranty i get stuck with a huge bill. This is all on top of the AC condenser that just went out as well (900 dollar repair according to the dealership) that GM will do NOTHING for. SO DISAPPOINTED with GM that it has changed my mind about buying the 2019. I hope you all have better luck then me.

In 2014 I ran out and bought the exact new body style/motor/transmission but mine was a 2014, 5.3L, LTZ, CrewCab 4x4 Z71. I noticed mine as soon as I got on the highway. I called immediately and pulled over to emailed for my records to their service department of the vibrations. They played it off as flat spots on the tires. I went out and switched tires to the Michelin Defenders which at that time I actually thought fixed it then I put new Bilstein 5100’s front and back and the problem disappeared. It wasn’t till later I started developing transmission issues because I would stump on it with my butt off the seat only to slowly reach higher speeds. To be honest with you, you should NEVER EVER purchase a new body style especially with new unproven motors and transmissions. A year later I couldn’t take it anymore so I bought a new 16 DMax LTZ CrewCab Z71 and had absolutely Zero problems with it. I recently traded that one in and bought the GMC Sierra SLT 4x4 Z71 CrewCab with the 6.2 this time and so far I love it. I know the 1500’s are made in Mexico but the DMax was made in Texas I believe, I know 100% all DMax’s trucks are made in the USA. I bought the last year of the model and looking forward to keeping it cause I’m sure all the kinks have been worked out by now. I’d get rid of it and either get a 2018 last year or go with Ford and make sure it’s not one of those eco boost...get a 5.0 coyote motor.

My 2015 GMC 6.2 has been solid, and I really do love it. With that said my 2014 Chevy 5.3L is the biggest piece of garbage I have even driven, not just owned, driven. Vibrations, shakes, trans issues, coolant issues, power steering issues, rattles and creaks, Stabiltrak issues, the list goes on. At least I am only into that one for 17CAD used. These trucks were a big step up in comfort, power, refinement and features. But it was a MASSIVE downgrade in terms of quality, longevity, and problems per vehicle. GM had four brands in the top ten for reliability last generation, this generation they have fallen for the most part right out of JD Power Top 10. Big disappointments from me towards GM on these trucks. GMT900 was solid, minus the comfort and refinement, these K2's are junk quality wise if you speak honestly and subjectively. We have paid the highest prices ever on these new trucks, and they have more Chinese and Mexican parts on them than ever before. GM's margins go up and our truck's quality suffers as a result, and we pay a 10% increase on a 2% inflation factor? They should be 100% made in the US and Canada if we are paying $65k+ for a freakin' half ton.

Isn't the powertrain warranty 5 years 60,000 miles?

Sorry, checked my facts, GM changed the powertrain warranty for 2016 forward to be limited to 60k miles.  You're right that the 2014 and 2015 have 100k coverage.

Soooooo correct, my 14 5.3 was a POS! But my 18 6.2 is by far my favorite gasoline truck. I’ve owned many fords and they were no better, it’s all preference. I like the cozy ness with all the plush and stitching everywhere in the GM’s but absolutely do not like the interiors of the Ford, commercial like feel. If I did get a Ford it would definitely have a big v8 and not that little eco boost garbage that fouls up and what’s up with that exhaust sound coming from the eco boost trucks, they sound like blowdryers!
