Front wheel hub speed sensors

So I am 978 miles outside of my extended warranty on my 2015 Sierra 1500. I get in it this morning and the dash lights up like a Xmas tree with warning lights. I called my local dealer and take it in. They said both front wheel hub speed sensors are out and they need replaced. In order to replace them I am being told they need to replace the hubs as well since all one unit. They quoted just over $1000 to do it and said there’s nothing they can do to get warranty to cover a “good will claim”. I’m curious if anyone else has had this issue? The truck has 60,978 miles on it.

I have a 2014 K2500HD with 17xxxx miles, the right from speed sensor was replaced by the dealer at approx 3000 miles. At around 16500 miles, I jumped in the truck one day and the dash lit with the traction control, ABS and Stabilitrak warning lights....diagnosed it to be the RF speed sensor. I replaced only the speed sensor, which is available without the wheel hub. That corrected the problem... for about 500 miles....the lights are on again. Diagnosed again as RF speed sensor, I bought a new hub but have not installed it yet, I am hoping it will fix the problem

So this is the 4th vehicle i have purchased from this dealer and the 3rd brand new one. They do ALL the service on it and I haven’t complained about anything ever. I called and spoke to my salesman and he got the bill knocked down to $500 which I am extremely happy with. I am going to be calling the warranty guy at the dealer tomorrow to get updated pricing on an extended warranty purchase. They quoted me one two weeks ago for $2100 with zero deductible, bumper to bumper just like factory and all the way out to 160K. Needless to say I’m kicking myself now for not pulling the trigger then.
