Power door locks

The power door lock on the passenger side of my 1999 Z71 quit working. It got weak over time and eventually completely quit. I replaced it (latch and actuator) and now it doesn't work at all. I detect no power at the harness where it plugs into the actuator when I hit the lock/unlock button, but did when I originally took it apart. Do these things require programming?

On something that old, it should not require programming.   Hmm.  is there a wire that runs over to the passenger side from the drivers side?

It has 3 harnesses that plug into it. The bottom plug in has 2 wires (one of which, gry/blk, will light a test light when I hit the lock button) but does nothing once I connect it. Not even a click. That makes it seem like a ground issue, but I can't figure out how the ground system works.
I'd post a picture but I can't figure out how to do that either. LOL

No programming needed. Check the connections and switch on the drivers door. The power for the locks and windows start at the drivers door and then run to the passenger side.

Good idea. I haven't thought of that.

I just started on it again this morning and it was working. Good in a way, but I don't like it when things miraculously work on their own. I like to know for sure I found the problem and fixed it.

Well there are no guarantees in life, other than taxes..   But hey, keep the faith!
