Radio and Rear Window Issues

So I've recently noticed a couple issues on my 2018 Silverado LT Crew Cab. 

 

First issue is the radio picture on Android auto when it switches back and forth from night to day vision. It gets really blotchy, especially along the bottom controls and the map for navigation. It's fine if I go home and go back to Android auto, bit annoying. See pic.

 

Second issue is with the rear window. For some reason, it seems like the strands in the window for the defrosting have major discoloration in spots. Not sure what the heck is going on here. 

 

See pics for better understanding.  Not sure if anyone else has experienced either of these.

I had the same issue with Android Auto. The way it works is that it is streaming the image to your phone and if the connection is not perfect there is pixelation or discoloration which I noticed mostly on the bottom buttons. I swapped to a new USB-C cable (I have a Pixel XL 2) and I do not notice this issue anymore.

Thanks for the response. I'll try getting new cable and see if that helps.

I bought the Anker braided usb cable from Amazon and have zero issues. My wife's CTS rear window defroster is discolored like that as well and appears to function well.383b5336-d096-4fee-804e-faa81a8d7fe0_1.1d38ded8a96ca4b95afc9a86c2cbee7e.jpeg

I have the same Anker braided but in black. They definitely hold up very well. I like the stiffness as well to reduce tangles.

Thanks. Did they fix anything on the window, or you just left it like that?

I never took it in and it's still like that now. I never told the wife so she's oblivious to it, lol. If your warranty goes through next winter I'd double check and ensure it defrosts like it should, our cts seems to function like new.

Yeah, mine works fine.  Just looks like crap, especially on a 2 month old truck.  Sort of annoying to me.  I'll see what they say when I take it in the first time.

So, just to update on the radio issue. I got cables as noted above, same issue.  Not sure if it's an Android issue or issue with the headunit.  Should I make a deal about it?  Again, not huge issue, just annoying having to reset it and it changes from night to day.

You have a new truck with a full warranty.  When you discover flaws in manufacture take it back to the dealership for repair.  You will be treated well and your truck will be made to look and operate as it should!

So my dealer has had my truck for a week now, and just called me saying nothing has been done to the window or head unit.  That the discoloration in the window is completely normal, and there is no flash or update or anything for the head unit.  So they've had my truck for a week for nothing.  I can't imagine I'm supposed to accept this as normal for an almost $40k truck.
