KMeloney Posted August 7, 2003 Posted August 7, 2003 Here at work we just recently had a tranny replaced on a Chevy HD pickup (not sure of the year of the truck). Anyway, I just drove it the other day, and after 1/2 throttle (especially starting out from a stop, ie lowest gear of "D") the engine would race, but the truck feels as though it has been put in neutral (no acceleration). Letting off the gas kicks it back into gear (it doesn't slam into gear -- it just comes back to life)... Is this the same problem you're having? If so, I've been told that it may be an issue with solenoids in the tranny. I initially thought it was a TB issue (dead spots on the coil), but rumor has it it's a tranny issue. We're getting the truck back from the shop today. I'll have a better idea of what the problem was after today. -Kirk
99-2door Posted August 7, 2003 Posted August 7, 2003 Change the fuel filter, chances are it needs it anyway.
