Tinting over factory privacy glass...

We just had our baby boy and I can't stand when the sun beams in on his face, and I don't want to use those sun screens that stick in the window.

So my question is who here has tinted over the factory privacy glass in the back of their trucks? What percentage did you use? Would 4% over the factory tint be too dark? Would 20% over factory provide enough protection from the sun for the little guy? Also, I'll be getting the ceramic tint.

I have 5% on rear doors & back window , & 35% on front doors & 5% strip on windshield .  check your state for tint level . I have no problem with my back windows , lot of night driving.

Thanks for the reply. I won't be doing much to my front side windows, cops around here are pretty picky and would probably pull me over for anything over 50%. The backs though there aren't any limitations so I'm going to go as dark as I can. I just don't want it to be complete darkness in the backseat for the kids and also be able to check my blind spots effectively.

I have 20% window tint all around excluding the front windshield and it helps keep interior cooler.  20% over the rear is not too bad yet still makes for a pretty dark appearance.   Have done 5% on other trucks and it was hard to see out at night plus rear view mirror reflection when driving into the sun was terrible.

I did Llumar CTX tint all the way around on my truck. 15% on the front side windows, 35% on the rears and back (on top of the factory tint) and AIR on the front windshield and sunroof (no tint just the ceramic protection). My 2 kids have no problem seeing out but it does keep it cool and sun out of thier faces.
